North Wales Cross Country Shrewsbury 25th November 2023

The second North Wales cross country league fixture took place at Boreatton park in Shrewsbury, and our junior athletes were not deterred by the first frost of the winter, delivering some fantastic performances, on the freshly, new lapped course in the surroundings of the PGL activity centre. 

In the U11 boys race, young Isac Martin stormed to victory leading by almost a minute! In the U13 boys race, a brilliant run from Elliot Rowe saw him also place first and to add to the success, Heather Watson won the U15 girls race leading by almost 2 minutes! 

In the senior races in the afternoon, Martha Owen delivered another outstanding run placing 2nd in the ladies race. In addition to this, some fantastic performances from the rest of the division 1 ladies team ensured Deeside were placed 2nd on the day remaining in top spot overall. 

In the male races, Jacob Welsh was our first U17 male athlete home placing 2nd and Tyler Cartlidge on a flying visit home from university, was our first senior male over the line.
