Borders League Race 2 Birkenhead Park 5th Nov 2023

The second Borders League Race was staged by Birkenhead AC in Birkenhead Park. Despite the atrocious weather conditions causing slippery paths there was a great turnout for the Deeside AAC team and fantastic results.

The ladies increased their lead at the top of division 1 with Emily Haggard Kearney first lady back followed by Abi Doherty, in her debut Borders race, in second place. Strong runs by the rest of the ladies team secured a convincing win on the day.

The men put in a superb performance to overtake West Cheshire AC and take first place in division 2 led home by Alex Haggard in 6th place overall. Congratulations to Zac Ames and Harry Purcell on their debut performances.

And not forgetting the fantastic support from family, friends and coaches. Thank you! It's much appreciated by all the athletes.
