Training Facilities
The Deeside stadium offers a range of both indoor and outdoor athletics facilities. Outdoors, this includes an international standard 8 lane all-weather track and field event facilities. There is also a covered grandstand and full changing facilities.
Floodlighting is used during the dark winter months to ensure health and safety of our athletes. Indoors, we have a 6 lane 60m track and all field event training facilities.
First Aid
It is a mandatory requirement that all coaches complete basic first aid training as part of their coaching course. We also have trained first aiders who travel with us to most competitions.
Opportunities to compete for the club

As a club, we compete in the North Wales cross country league. All athletes can compete in this league. We have a junior league and a senior league. The junior league is from U11 up to U15 and the senior league is for those in the U17 age group up to masters level.
Road Running: (October to May)
U17 and above athletes regularly compete in the Borders road running league. Distances range from 4 miles up to 6 miles. This league is great for those who enjoy distance running!
There is no cost for any of these events as the entry fees are covered in your membership. Free transport is also provided where applicable.
Age Limits
We welcome anyone from the age of 9 up to masters to join our club!
Club Kit
The club’s official kit is a black vest/tank top with white trim and black shorts. Athletes are expected to acquire the appropriate kit and wear it with pride whilst representing the club at competitions. Club kit must be ordered direct from the Total Team website
Please allow plenty of time for kit to arrive as dispatch and delivery times can be very slow.
Coaches and Officials
The club has a number of skilled and qualified coaches covering most disciplines of track and field, cross country and road. Our coaches are all volunteers but they undertake continuous training and education to keep up to date with current practice. Additionally, the club has a number of volunteer officials who are responsible for helping to run athletic meetings. We are ALWAYS looking for extra volunteers to help out with officiating at events.
No prior experience is required and fully supervised guidance will be given at each event. You may only be asked to officiate for an hour or so (not all day!). Furthermore, your support in officiating will help us earn valuable team points towards our league placings, and is an extra support to our athletes competing.
Insurance
All competing members, coaches, volunteers and officials are insured by Welsh Athletics once they are registered.
Presentation Evening
An annual presentation evening is held in the autumn to which all the athletes, families, friends and coaches are invited to attend. This is to celebrate and commemorate outstanding achievement by athletes competing for the club. A number of special awards will be presented. Further information on this will be provided closer to the time.
Club Committee
The club is made up of committee members who typically meet on the first Thursday of every month. An annual general meeting (AGM) is held each year in November. Any adults associated with Deeside A.A.C (including parents/guardians) are welcome to be a part of the committee group.
At the AGM we appoint a female and a male club captain as well as a male and female vice captain based on a voting system from those in the club. These appointed people are always there for you to go to should you have any suggestions or concerns you wish to put forward to the committee.
